AT THE FEET OF THE MOTHER
Ask Alok da

Regarding the conclusion of your answers, why is there variations on how the cycle of ages are calculated. If we read The Holy Science by Swami Yukteshwar Giri (Guru of Yogananda Paramhansa) in the foreword of the book, he sets the current date at 249 years of the Dwapara Yuga. ⌛[…]

While Sri Aurobindo, Pt Shree Ram Sharma Acharya talks about the upcoming Golden Age of Satya Yuga. I know I am at fault here by comparing these Divine Personalities, however I am here to learn and correct myself. Please tell, are we bypassing other Yugas to reach Satya Yuga, or is it Dwapara now, as after the incarnation of Sri Ramkrishna Paramhansa, the Kaliyuga ends?

Leave aside the great ones and all others with their timelines, and use logic and common sense. The Srimadbhagwat mentions that when King Parikshit took over the reins, Kaliyuga had already set in. There is a whole story of the injured cow tortured by the spirit of Kaliyug, there as well as the subsequent curse received by King Parikshit. Besides, the date of Sri Krishna with whom the end of Dwapar is associated is more or less confirmed through various sources as nearly 4500 to 5000 years back… We also know roughly the date when the Ramsetu was built, leaving no doubt about the gap between the two well-known incarnations at the close of Treta and Dwapara, respectively. The astronomical figures of the timeline of Yugas are based on the interpretation of a kalpa. But the question is if the difference of yugas is lakhs of years then the entire findings after detailed research about the dating of Ramasetu and the Mahabharata is wrong. There are several people who disagree with the idea of lakhs of years for each yuga and there is no reason why one should accept the word of a mystic as aptavakya unless it is backed by thorough research. If the basis is simply an interpretation of the Purana timeline, then it is insufficient evidence or rather a misinterpretation. Besides, if we are still only into the first few hundred years of Dwapara, then Sri Krishna is yet to be born! The rest I have discussed in detail in my talks on Satyuga and Kalki, which are available on auromaa.

Of course, each one is free to believe what they want. It doesn’t make any difference to the fundamental understanding about life and God and creation, though a Creator letting creation suffer for lakhs of years sounds rather insensitive even by God-standards. I would rather think of a more compassionate Divine who intervenes and cuts short the agony of mankind, reducing it from lakhs to a few hundred years.

Affectionately,

Alok Da

I genuinely love a guy (or at least I feel that way), but we are not in a relationship because we know that we are not perfect for each other. We live in different places, so we don’t meet. There is evidently a vital attraction which is very different from love. It usually wears off with time unless there is a strong deep affinity of goals, ideas and interests.

Marraige is a different matter. It requires a deep commitment which can come only if there is some glimmer of true love or else strong earthly bonds of family, habits, customs, language etc. Besides, long distance relationship is very different from living together in close physical proximity. Many unwanted things begin to show up in close…
