AT THE FEET OF THE MOTHER
Ask Alok da

My birth took place on the Seventh Day of Sharadiya Navratri, and my Nakshatra is Mula. Actually, a few days ago, I learned about my Nakshatra, and a Guruji had mentioned that it is Challenging. When I searched, I found that it is associated with the resolution of Past-Life Karma and Transformation. 📕😊🙏🏼🌌✨[…]

It is also described as resembling a Banyan tree — strengthening its roots before transforming. I had searched for this before, and today I received a Video Notification related to it. In the post, I saw the name of Sri Aurobindo, and after watching the video, I realized that Sri Aurobindo’s Nakshatra is also Mula Nakshatra.

Though I do not believe in Astrology or Kundali, I wanted to know if it has any Spiritual Significance. Does it hold any importance in our lives? In Ancient times, people used to make decisions based on Rashi, Nakshatra, Kundali, and Planetary Positions. Why did they give it so much importance?

Astrology, jyotish, stars, etc., do not control or govern our destiny. If this were true, then the law of karma and the Divine working would have no meaning. Stars, or more specifically, the subtle forces and beings behind the planetary movements, are more like the writings indicating our immediate short-term destiny. It is simply a script. The script does not decide or determine our destiny. It is not even those who write in the book of fate who decide our destiny. It is only our actions (and all that constitutes them, such as motives, feelings, thoughts, etc.) and the Cosmic Law modifying the consequences to help our future growth that determine our fate. Neither the gods and forces who write the script, arranging the situations and circumstances, that can be appeased or bribed into writing something else. It is only the Cosmic Divine who can change and modify it in the condition that we become conscious, learn and progress. Otherwise, we go through the law of learning through action and consequences. In either case, stars have no role in deciding our destiny. Hence, even if we take precautions, change our outward course due to the horoscope, destiny will still chase and find the way. That is what we find in stories of the Bhagawat, the Ramayana and other scriptures. Destiny can be changed only by changing the inner motives or by the action of the Divine Grace.

Affectionately,

Alok Da

I had a dream where I was at my mother’s house and saw two snakes. They were not black; one had brown patterns or markings on its body. I felt quite scared when I saw them. One of the snakes was thick and moving slowly, but it wasn’t attacking or harming anyone. 🐍🌙[…]

The snakes at your mother’s house seem to be the remnants of some past heredity tendencies that are there in the subconscient nature. They are not harmful but atavistic, remnants of the past…

Why should you worry or fear? If you believe that you are The Mother’s child, then where is the room for any anxiety or worry? Our intelligence may be and is  limited but if we open ourselves and offer to the Divine then He supplements our limited intelligence and force with His and then there is nothing to fear or be worried at all. …
