It means that they not following Sri Aurobindo at all. They are simply paying a lip service adopting more of a religious approach towards Sri Aurobindo in which we claim to be a devotee but contradict the truth brought to us in life and practice. There is no meaning in being a follower if one refuses to follow the teachings given by the Master.
