AT THE FEET OF THE MOTHER
Ask Alok da

I feel so empty in social gatherings and meetings, or when I try to make a new friend. I have lost interest in all these conversations about what people do, as I find it just surface talk and due to my obligations, I have to attend these sometimes. 😌👥🌄👥🪷[…]

Meanwhile I like to read sri Aurobindo and listen your talks. I don’t know if this is good or bad, as I am in family life and people expect me to be more social and extroverted. How should I deal with this and later not feel empty even? I don’t have much understanding of many things… Can you please help me with what to do so that I can carry my family life duties even and not feel empty within.

This is a very good sign, the sign of readiness for the true spiritual life. It may look odd for the socially minded average human being, but it is very helpful for spiritual progress. Practice a witness attitude and an inner detachment during these gatherings. Try to cultivate equanimity and inner peace through all this and remain engaged in an inner Remembrance of the Mother.

Affectionately,

Alok Da

I want to come to the Ashram, but the circumstances are not favorable. Should we wait, as everything has its own time? Or does it depend solely upon us? 🏦🙄🙏🏻🪷

One should not precipitate things. Faith and surrender to the Divine Grace are the best inner state. Patience and learning to wait with a quiet aspiration growing steadily within are a wonderful help in reorganizing the circumstances. Thus one should keep growing in one’s aspiration until it becomes imperative to come and one …
