There is the outer Ashram in the geographical physical space. Similarly there is, corresponding or rather connected to it an inner Ashram in the subtle physical plane. It is not necessary that those in the physical Ashram are necessarily in the inner Ashram and vice versa. There are people in the outer Ashram who are there for a number of reasons. But in the inner Ashram are those who love the Mother and are turned to Her and their teachings or are, in their heart and mind disciples of Sri Aurobindo. These are in the inner Ashram even if they are not in the physical Ashram. The Mother has spoken about it and it is the experience of disciples like Nolini Da, Champaklal ji and others.
