AT THE FEET OF THE MOTHER
Ask Alok da

Are friendships necessary – I feel my friends are slightly offensive – put me down – don’t want to acknowledge me for me – I used to be very available before ! Listen to their every problem try solve it. Now I don’t. It’s negative. Draining. 🧑‍🤝‍🧑💔💥🖤

Keep cribbing about their marital problems. Not happy in life. Does sharing really help. I feel now I only want them in my life to attend my wedding. For public appearance and approval. Is crazy.

I can’t really have intellectual convos with them. Stuck on money and other social petty things. I’m more than just a nice person. Tired…

Nothing is necessary in life. It is a question of temperament. Some like to have friends, others prefer to be alone. But whether one has friends or not one should find the art of being inwardly happy. That comes when we do not have unnecessary expectations from people. More than listening or helping one should radiate happiness and joy around. Bitterness and complaints help neither ourselves nor others.

Affectionatley,

Alok Da
