AT THE FEET OF THE MOTHER

Could you please explain a little more about the four brothers? Who are the four brothers this quote refers to? Which one was manifested in Champaklal ji? -๐Ÿ“–๐Ÿ™๐Ÿป […]

‘1926 โ€” While giving Sri Aurobindoโ€™s dish to me Mother said: The Being which we want to manifest in you demands complete surrender. They are four brothers: one of them wants to manifest in you and he is waiting for you to be ready. He wishes that I should work in you.’

The four brothers, in this context,ย  are mentioned only in Champaklal ji’s reminiscence. As far as I remember they are faith, aspiration, sincerity and surrender. They are the four pillars of immortality, the four Godheads whom the Mother was bringing down in the disciples as the four pillars of Immortality. Champaklal ji was aspiration; Tirupati was faith. Kanai was surrender. I am not sure about the fourth one. However, this noting is not found anywhere in the Mother’s writings and there may be an error in its transcription and, as I said, I don’t remember the names exactly. Some people try to relate it to the four original Divine Powers, the four Godheads, or even, as some would say, to the four Sanatkumar rishis. But these are speculations and in the absence of direct confirmation or validation in the Mother’s or Sri Aurobindo’s writings, it is best not to pay too much attention to these things and focus on the one thing needful, – The Mother.ย

Affectionately,

Alok Da
