AT THE FEET OF THE MOTHER

Every now and then, tamas overpowers the mind, triggering a downward whirlwind of mental state. Sometimes I wait it out, letting the tamasic state pass on its own; other times, I put too much pressure on my mind to snap out of it. πŸ˜ͺπŸ˜“πŸ¦‹[…]

In such a compromised state, should one continue with their work, or stop all action, call upon Divine help with all one’s might to enter a flow state, and then resume?

One must not succumb to tamas. If allowed, it overpowers more and more. The day is meant for work and one should keep oneself occupied with some meaningful activity or another. Half an hour or 45 minutes of afternoon rest is fine. But for the rest, one should work or read or exercise to keep the right rhythm of the system. Divine Help and calling for it is fine, but our actions should align with the help that is being sought. By succumbing to tamas and calling the Divine Will, we, in effect, are not supporting its action.

Affectionately,

Alok Da
