AT THE FEET OF THE MOTHER
Ask Alok da

I am faced with a choice between two ventures: one with a peaceful environment but limited long-term ownership, and another with complex family dynamics and a challenging atmosphere, but where the income could be fully dedicated to a higher spiritual purpose. ⚖️🕯️[…]

Given the inner conflict between a harmonious setting and the aspiration to serve through the more difficult path, which direction should I choose?

Most of these considerations are peripheral. All kinds of people are everywhere and one has to learn to inwardly dissociate oneself from them, as Vibhishan did living in Lanka.

Equally, considerations of the future, having money and offering it for the Mother’s Work is a speculation. If the Mother wants you to experience the joy of offering and feels you are ready for it, She will arrange things accordingly.

The main consideration should be about the time you would need for the sadhana, for inner quietude and an ingathered condition. That should be the main consideration. From your letter, it seems overall you are more inclined for working in the mine that is 300 kms away from your place. I see no reason why you shouldn’t go there. Nepal too has a lot of drugs and unrest right now. Here, there will be material safety and security at least. Mixing with people is upto you. You can always stay alone and without mixing and free of unwanted influences.

Affectionately,

Alok da

Faith makes one a devotee which is the door through which the Divine Grace and Protection reach easily to the devotee. But the entry into the Divine doors begins with access code of aspiration. Aspiration is the initiation into the true …
