AT THE FEET OF THE MOTHER
Ask Alok da

I often end up keeping a lot of anger 😤inside myself. I don’t know where this pattern comes from, but I think the main reason is that I try to always avoid confrontations with people. Yet, the anger still remains inside as negativity and tension. Sometimes I envy people who can just freely express their anger at others without suppressing it in this way. I think part of the problem has also to do with moral upbringing — the notion that anger is bad and that you should be composed. What would you suggest me to do? Is learning to express your anger better than keeping it inside?

I don’t think inability to express anger is the cause of anger! You will have to see why anger arises at all in the first place. Generally it is due to some kind of unhappiness or frustration in life, usually something one wants but is unable to acquire. I presume it has not been inherited or learnt within the family.

In any case one has to find why the anger is arising and address that. If it is due to some feelings of inferiority or something one wants to achieve but is unable to get it then one has to find alternate ways to move forward. It helps to read good books and listen to soft soothing music as it helps open the doors of mind to harmonious movements and refines the consciousness. On the other hand, excitement and impulsiveness, impatience, restlessness are close cousins of anger. Regular practice of Asanas and deep breathing helps here. Finally, as far as expressing anger goes it is much better to sublimate it through sports of your choice or vigorous physical workouts and activities such as swimming. Try these and see.

Affectionately,

Alok Da

Regarding the Four Aspects of the Mother, Alok da, I sense a parallel in Sri Aurobindo’s evaluation of various poets in which they excel and in which they lack. Poets like Keats have a lyrical sweetness and beauty but lack vital power and raw force, which a poet like Browning has. 📜✒️😊🙏🏻🪷[…]

Yes. Not only in poetry as you have rightly pointed out, but in everything, in the least atom and grain of sand one can see the working of the four aspects and the Knowledge and Power of the Divine Mother hidden behind it. ..

Today evening while meditating on mother’s organ music on fairy dance, firstly I saw a living mountain having two big eyes and it was seeing all around with those eyes and then a number appeared again and again in that vision it is a number 349 what does it’s means sir.

The living mountain is the physical consciousness under the influence of the Psychic aspiration. 349 perhaps means the 3 lower and 4 higher planes that are embedded or involved within the physical consciousness represented by number 9. The dream implies that your physical consciousness is open to the Divine Influence.
