It is the Lord’s decision. I am not even asking what He has decided. If the body is incapable of bearing the fight, if it has to be dissolved, then humanity will pass through a critical time. What the Asuric Force that has succeeded in taking the appearance of Sri Aurobindo will create is a new religion or thought, perhaps cruel and merciless, in the name of the Supramental Realisation.
But everybody must know that it is not true, it is not Sri Aurobindo’s teaching, not the truth of his teaching. The truth of Sri Aurobindo is a truth of love and light and mercy. He is good and great and compassionate and divine…. Now, individually, if you want to help, you have only to pray. What the Lord wants will be done. Whatever He wills, He will do with this body, which is a poor thing.
There are many rumors circulating about Mother’s passing. Satprem found a box of Siquil, a tranquilizer, in her room. Mother said there was no need to rush the burial. I don’t know what to think. Best regards.
The first statement of the Mother about no more being in the body and the Religion in the name of Sri Aurobindo is on the 03rd April 1962. There were number of attacks on Her body since March 1962. But interestingly She herself declared the result of this battle 10 days later on April 13, 1962. She describes the experience thus.
‘Night of April 12-13.1
Suddenly in the night I woke up with the full awareness of what we could call the Yoga of the world. The Supreme Love was manifesting through big pulsations, and each pulsation was bringing the world further in its manifestation. It was the formidable pulsations of the eternal, stupendous Love, only Love: each pulsation of the Love was carrying the universe further in its manifestation.
And the certitude that what is to be done is done and the Supramental Manifestation is realized.
Everything was Personal, nothing was individual.
This was going on and on and on and on….
The certitude that what is to be done is DONE.
All the results of the Falsehood had disappeared: Death was an illusion, Sickness was an illusion, Ignorance was an illusionโsomething that had no reality, no existence…. Only Love, and Love, and Love, and Loveโimmense, formidable, stupendous, carrying everything.
And how, how to express in the world? It was like an impossibility, because of the contradiction…. But then it came: “You have accepted that this world should know the Supramental Truth… and it will be expressed totally, integrally.” Yes, yes….
And the thing is DONE.

The individual consciousness came back, just the sense of a limitation, limitation of pain; without that, no individual.2
And we set off again on the way, certain of the Victory.
The heavens are ringing with chants of Victory!
Truth alone exists; Truth alone shall manifest. Onward!… Onward!

Compared to the experience, whatever I say is nothing, nothing, nothing but words.
And our consciousness is the same, absolutely the same as the Lord’s. There was no difference, no difference at all….
We are That, we are That, we are That.

The fundamental Victory was won. What She was doing thereafter was to see how far can this fundamental Victory be established in matter. It was in a sense ‘extra work’ that She was doing to make the passage smoother. Then the Superman descended adding one more decisive step further ensuring the transformation. This however was never meant to take place in one lifetime. She mentions 1000 years plus for the ultimate supramental transformation. That part, the physical transformation was never meant to take place in Her lifetime. What they had come to do was done on the 29th February 1956. It was further reinforced in April 1962. A further decisive step was in 1969. Her withdrawl after February 1956 would have made no difference to the basic mission. But She went ahead as far as was possible.
All the rest, the anxiety and concerns of Satprem are reactions of his personality. Those around Her were naturally too dependent upon Her physical presence. Hence each one’s reactions. But what The Mother came to do has been done, in fact more than done as we read above. Rest is all mental speculations or hazardous conclusions. She withdrew because what She fundamentally came to do was done.
