Dream interpretation is a whole science and an art by itself. It is a language one has to learn but a language much like ancient languages with root sounds where the meaning is not fixed in stone. The meaning of a dream has a personal element as well as universal symbols. The universal symbols change as the collective consciousness evolves and the world images that invade us change. For example one is unlikely to see chariots today, symbolizing movement, journey, progress, change but more likely to see cars, trains, aircrafts, spacecraft. Individual symbols refer to the inner meaning and value one attributes to someone or something. It is also important to remember correctly what one has see. Diamond eyes, for example, represents a glimpse of divinity.
It is an intuitive science. One learns it by reading about dream symbols, trying to remember the dreams and most important experience. However it is important to note that different traditions interpret symbols differently based on their limitation of understanding human nature. Thus for example the psychoanalysts would ordinarily interpret an aircraft as a phallic symbol and even the sacred Shivalingam as a symbol of sexuality. But a mystic will see the aircraft as rapid progress and the Shivalingam as union of Purusha and Prakriti leading to the complete awakening of the Kundalini.
