AT THE FEET OF THE MOTHER
Ask Alok da

I want to know who is included in the category of gods and goddesses? Please give me information about this. If people who want to live in the material world chant the name of lord krishna for material happiness, will god Sri Krishna fulfill their desire for material happiness? Please guide me on this.โ˜€๏ธ๐Ÿ‘‘๐Ÿ”ฑย ๐Ÿ‘๏ธโœจ ย  ย  ย

The gods and goddesses are aspects and powers of the One Supreme Divine. There are the four original gods who represents each an aspect of the Divine. Brahma is Existence, Vishnu is Consciousness, Shiva is Force, Krishna is Bliss. From each of these gods several emanations emerge as so many beings and powers that work on different planes, each with his own function. These gods are fixed in the evolutionary ladder, unlike man who can ascend through the domain of the gods to the very Supreme. Man can, through Yoga, assume even the status of a god, a demigod so to say. They are all a complex organisation and a close-knit community whose main work is to help creation move towards the Divine, towards the Light and the Right.ย

Sri Krishna himself confirms in the Gita that he grants the desires of those who seek the satisfaction of desires from him whereas he gives freedom from ignorance and desires to those who seek Him through bhakti and surrender. And to those who are ever engaged in His Work and Yoga, he takes care of all their material needs and spiritual wellbeing.ย  ย  ย

Affectionately,

I read this little passage from The Mother. I want to know whether Sri Aurobindo is talking about Radha or the Hladini Shakti here. If not, who is the Power of the Mother mentioned here?: ๐Ÿ“–๐Ÿ˜Š๐Ÿ™๐Ÿป๐ŸŒ„๐ŸŒผ[…]

Fortunately this question was asked to Sri Aurobindo though in different words. We have a clear, concise and complete answer from him on this issue. The letter is as quoted below.

‘In the Chandi the names of the four Cosmic Powers of the Motherโ€”Maheshwari, Mahakali, Mahalakshmi, Mahasaraswatiโ€”are mentioned along with others, but the name Radha is not mentioned. This is a clear proof of the fact that when the Chandi was composed the Radha-Power was not manifested to the vision of the saints and that the Chandi mentions…

Today I had a remarkable dream. I felt that something profoundly spiritual had happened to India. It seemed that Mother India, the Divine Feminine Power, had become firmly established in the nation, and that a deep realization had awakened in the collective consciousness of the country. ๐Ÿ—บ๏ธ๐Ÿ˜Š๐Ÿ™๐Ÿป๐Ÿชท๐ŸŒ„[…]

This is not just a dream but a dream vision. It is true to the details. Yes, Mother India is rising to reclaim Her Glory and redeem the world. The other woman is clearly the anti-divine forces whose time has come. They are angry at the rise of India’s glory and know …

In her prayer of May 17, 1914, Mother writes, “One day thou wilt be my head but for the moment turn thy gaze towards the earth.” When a disciple enquired what the phrase โ€œthou wilt be my headโ€ means, She answered that “The head is the original conceiving Consciousness. “Could you simplify the meaning of all this a little further for me? ๐Ÿ“–๐Ÿ˜Š๐Ÿ™๐Ÿป๐ŸŒผ

Head is the hub that conceives whereas heart is the hub that impels towards action.ย

What the Mother seems to be experiencing here, in this prayer, is to withdraw from everything including all action. She wants to be completely one with the pure Consciousness in its origin. But the command for her is…
