AT THE FEET OF THE MOTHER
Ask Alok da

I was listening to your talk: Steps of the soul. I am beginning to understand what Sri Aurobindo’s collective yoga means and why Sri Aurobindo’s sacrifice is the highest. I realised that it is easy to say I am supporting someone or giving food or donating money, but can I really part with or share what I hold close to me, like the progress that happens after immense psychological struggle? 😯🌼🌄❤️‍🔥[…]

On some days when I feel good, the answer is yes. But most times, perhaps not! I have been fooling myself that I am different -it is just that each one of us holds on to something like wealth, position, or power closely and does not wish to part with it. In my case, it is not these three, but I am no different!

I realised I can be selfish because I do not consent that if a trouble is conquered in me, then it should happen so in others, including people I do not necessarily get along with. My current state is that there are some people who have not been nice to me and I don’t see why they should benefit. Maybe because I am so attached to my struggle?

What is the remedy for this? Is it because I haven’t accepted some people in my life? Is that why The Mother says She is the one doing the sadhana for us, so that we may not be attached to the progress?

I see why Sri Aurobindo is The Greatest – He struggled so much to reach the highest and yet He shares the secret with love and leads everyone on that path without discriminating.

Yes, it is never easy to conquer the inner enemies and discover our inmost truth, without which all else we do remains incomplete, subjecting us to a seesaw of joy and sorrow. It takes time until one reaches the point when the Divine becomes not only an object of curiosity or distant admiration but one very close to us, intimate and real. Seeking Him becomes our primary aim and objective. It is then that life takes a true and happy turn.

May you and everyone share the happiness that comes from a living and loving trust in the Divine.

Affectionately

Alok Da

Today is my Birthday. I’ve been following Mother’s guidance for years, but sometimes I feel alone, helpless, and like I’m doing everything wrong. I’m an elementary school teacher, and sometimes I don’t know how to help the children entrusted to me. 😊🙏🏻🌼[…]

Wish you a beautiful birthday. May you open more and more to Her Grace and Love. May all loneliness be dissolved in Her sweet embrace of Love.

Coming to your question, the world is suffering today because much of humanity has cut itself off from the Divine within. It has either lost its faith in God under the spell of skepticism or else managed to shut Him in prisons of narrow creeds and rigid formulas. What children need most is living example of persons who breath…

Mumma scolds me many times a day, and if once I do something that she thinks I did wrong, she will not stop and will scold me for small things after that, and then she says she doesn’t scold me, in denial. What to do? 🙄👩🏻‍👦🏻🌾

Yes sometimes it does feel annoying when parents do not listen to the demands of the child and instead scold them. If you see carefully, the reason is not difficult to understand. It is simply because through learning and …
