AT THE FEET OF THE MOTHER
Ask Alok da

In the Synthesis of Yoga, Sri Aurobindo wrote that the Forces of Nature Control us, and we mistake them for ourselves. What are the Forces of Nature he is referring to? 📖🔥🍃🦋✨

These are forces of the lower triple world, that is to say, the forces of the mental, the vital and the physical world. There are universal planes with their forces, beings and energies corresponding to our individual mind, individual vital and the physical body that push us from behind. We become aware of them only when they enter us, especially when they take the form of thoughts and feelings and will and impulses. Once our consciousness identifies with them, we think it is my thoughts, my feelings, my will and wishes, my impulses. But in fact, it is hardly ours. All that is ours is the consent. At any given point in time, we are impacted by a number of forces that come to us as suggestions. By habit and affinity, we draw certain forces around and near us. According to the choice we build our inner being and states of consciousness, based on our choices we grow into a god or an asura or gravitate towards the rakshasa and the animal.

Affectionately,

Alok Da
