AT THE FEET OF THE MOTHER
Ask Alok da

Just two days ago, it dawned on me that I no longer felt only the presence of a Guru. I wanted to experience the vast Sri Krishna and the Divine Mother, who transcends Form and Name. I prayed for this. The very next day, while reading Book 4, Canto 3 of Savitri, these lines came to my mind: 🌌📖😊🙏🏼🌹[…]

“But dim in human hearts the ascending fire,

The invisible Grandeur sits unworshipped there;

Man sees the Highest in a limiting form,

Or looks upon a Person, hears a Name.” – Reading these, the feelings that had arisen within me found acceptance. But Dada, how can I experience the Mother’s presence beyond Name and Form?

[Savitri – Book Four, Canto III: https://incarnateword.in/cwsa/34/the-call-to-the-quest#p18]

The whole mystery of the Divine Incarnation is there. The Divine assumes a Name and Form so that by the help of their Name and Form, we reach beyond Name and Form. That is the secret.

Of course, the Upanishads suggest meditating upon the Idea of the Divine Presence in all and all in the Divine without giving any mental form or name to It.

Affectionately,

Alok Da
