AT THE FEET OF THE MOTHER
Ask Alok da

Mothers says cultivating disinterestedness is the first step towards living a true life. What are some of the practical ways to become disinterested, or act disinterestedly in life🤔? Especially when one sees so many defects in oneself.

It means to do things without reference to oneself, selflessly as an offering to Her regardless of the fruits or any other personal gain. In practice it means to take pleasure in all one does but not to do anything for the sake of pleasure. The choice of activity should not be based on personal preferences or rigid mental standard but on what helps feel closer to the Divine or expresses the Divine best through oneself.  Finally not to be attached to any particular activity or mode of living but to be ready to give up even those activities that one considers as the divine work without remorse if such be the inner need, the command or the calling. based on personal preferences or rigid mental standard but on what helps feel closer to the Divine or expresses the Divine best through oneself.  Finally not to be attached to any particular activity or mode of living but to be ready to give up even those activities that one considers as the divine work without remorse if such be the inner need, the command or the calling.

Affectionately,

Alok Da

Is drinking small quantities of alcohol really that bad? Most people I know consume alcohol in some measure. I noticed that the ones who quit it completely face backlash from Society. For example, I heard business people say that you can’t trust a person who doesn’t drink. 🥂💬🍸🎶[…]

It is not a question of good or bad from a moral point of view. But drinking alcohol is certainly harmful for the physical, as well as psychological and I would even say spiritual health. The list of physical problems is too long and generally too well known to elucidate. …

Yesterday suddenly realised during my prayer with my mother that the seat of the Psychic Being is Highar Vital, in the Hridaya Chakra. Initially, I feel Peace, Bliss and Delight up to the Vishudhi Centre. Suddenly realised that my heart has received The Mother’s Peace and is spreading to all the centre of my all the inner parts and similar to the mother light also. Suddenly feel that the heart centre is doing everything. Alok da, is our Sadhana going in the right direction? Please guide me. 🪷✨💖🕯️

Yes absolutely, the psychic being is behind the heart centre and when open and in the front then all becomes easy and natural.
Your prayer is a beautiful psychic prayer and the yoga going in the right direction.
