AT THE FEET OF THE MOTHER
Ask Alok da

Sri Aurobindo talks of bringing the Divine Consciousness upon Earth and transforming the modern man into a Supramental Race. What does it really mean? How is our society, community, culture and our material life going to look like after this Grand Evolution? What is the roadmap Sri Aurobindo had envisaged for this extraordinary Transformation? ๐ŸŒ๐Ÿ‘ฑ๐Ÿผ๐Ÿ‘ฉ๐Ÿผ๐ŸŒป

We are what we are due to our consciousness. It is consciousness that holds the key. Through yoga, the human consciousness comes in contact with the Divine. When this is accompanied by an aspiration for the Divine Life, an aspiration for Peace and Light and Purity and Harmony, an increasing surrender to the Divine Mother and a growing sincerity, then our human consciousness with all its limitations are taken up by the Divine Mother and Her Consciousness begins to pour in and change our consciousness.ย

This change leads to a change in the way we perceive, understand and execute things. Slowly, this begins to impact every sphere of our action, leading to a new way of life and eventually the emergence of a new being or a new species.

To ensure this new emergence in a definitive way, they established a New Consciousness upon earth, the supramental consciousness that is operative as the new evolutionary principle since 1956.

This is obviously going to take time, like any evolutionary crossover, even at its fastest. There will also be a number of intermediary steps and stages, like an abortive subspecies until the complete transformation, including the bodily change, takes place. This is the basic road map before man.ย

Affectionately,

Alok Da

Alok da, I was going through this work by the philosopher Descartes called Rules for the Direction of the Mind. So much of this work is about how to better purify the various human faculties of sense perception, memory, judgment, imagination, etc., so that one can observe minute facts of nature with precision and without prejudiced universal presuppositions and arrive at a true universal knowledge, which is arrived at only after mastery of minute particulars. ๐Ÿ‡ฎ๐Ÿ‡ณ๐Ÿ”ฌ๐Ÿ“–๐ŸŒ„[…]

Certainly the Hindus knew the various means of purifying the mind and intelligence and, during the heydays of ancient India, the Vedic period and even much later, they did turn it both inwards and outwards. That is how they discovered such wonderful things which included plastic surgery, an elaborate pharmacopeia, warcraft and deadly weapons, principles of politics and administration, rules of mathematics and chemistry, linguistics and …

Sir, is whatever happens with us is always for our best? ๐Ÿ™๐Ÿป๐ŸŒผ

The Mother has given a very beautiful and complete answer to this.

‘Is it really the best that always happens?… It is clear that all that has happened had to happen: it could not be otherwiseโ€”by the universal determinism it had to happen. But we can say so only after it has happened, not before. For the problem of the very best that can happen is an individual problem, whether the individual be a nation or a single human being; and all depends upon the personal attitude. If, in the presence of circumstances…
