AT THE FEET OF THE MOTHER
Ask Alok da

“Teach the vital to obey”. Obey  what? And how? If it’s the Mother to obey, how will one know, really, that my Vitals are obeying Her, or simply feeling? How to know for sure that the Vital obeys? 🦋🤔🌼✨

The vital is full of unruly instincts, desires and impulses. It must first be brought under the control of the mind and reason. It must obey the buddhi, the discerning intelligence given to us to help make conscious choices, to rein in the vital and tame its wild outbursts and fits of anger and storms of passion. Its moods must be trained and disciplined by reason, so to speak.

Then, next, it must be taught to obey the deeper psychic sense, listen to what is true and beautiful and good. It must become an instrument of the Divine service rather than a means to give rise to revolt, ambition, depression.

Once this is accomplished, it is ready to obey the higher consciousness and the Divine Will.

The signs that it is becoming reasonable are the absence of mood swings, quick control over anger and other emotions, a tendency to step back and reflect before speaking and action, a certain mastery over impulses.

The signs that it is obeying the higher and deeper impulsion are freedom from desire and the mixture of egoism, the emergence of a deeper, calmer and luminous vital energy from within, a more forceful action than was possible before.

The signs that it is getting aligned to the Divine Will are a complete freedom from external conditions such as heat and cold, praise and insult, a deep inner peace and joy that accompanies everywhere and becomes the new basis of action, a complete freedom from restlessness and the emergence of a clear intuition and guidance in life. If one continues along this path of obedience and surrender to the Divine, negative emotions such as hate, jealousy, fear, etc., become impossible and a deeper fount of love, sweetness and harmony begins to emerge so that one feels friendliness and sympathy towards all creatures.

Affectionately,

Alok Da

Dear Alok da, I would like to know more about Dutta who was Mother’s companion from Britain. Are there any books that write about her? Or can you tell me something about her? What did she represent?

Dutta also known as Ms Hodgson was The Mother’s friend since adolescence. She traveled with the Mother wherever She went and stayed in Pondicherry until leaving her body.

The name Dutta was given to her by Sri Aurobindo meaning ‘Offered one’.

She is indeed the one who was the first one to exclaim on the Siddhi day ‘The Lord has conquered death’ which…

Today, my parents were listening to a very popular Shiva Mahapuran Kathavachak. During the Katha, he mentioned that Lord Shiva is superior to Lord Vishnu and Lord Brahma. The reason he gave was related to the position of their respective Shaktis.

This is even factually incorrect. Saraswati has been revered and worshipped since the Vedic Age. At that point she is not regarded as a consort of Brahma but as the goddess of Vak, the Word of creation. There is no Brahma but Brahmanaspati, or Brahaspati in the Vedic Age. Later Puranic legend shows Saraswati brought out from Brahma but it is she …

Namaste Alok Da. I want to learn about the Typal Beings. What are they, and when did the typal beings appear in the Involution or Creation process? Were they created after the 4 fallen Emanations (Consciousness or Light; Life; Love or Beatitude; and Truth), as the 4 Emanations fell, as the Mother took the plunge; or after creation and during the evolutionary process? 🌌⚔️✨🙏[…]

The typal beings are not evolutionary. They are fixed to type. The gods, the titans, the beings of the mid-worlds are all typal beings.

Creation began with the first four emanations (Sat-Chit-Tapas-Ananda). These are the four original aspects of the Divine. Each being an aspect of the Divine acted in complete freedom sharing the absoluteness of the Divine. But this very sense of absolute freedom led to their being ‘apparently separated’ from the Divine Origin. There could never be any real separation. But each perceived the sense of absolute power as if independent of the Origin…
