Can one truly progress towards an ‘Integral’ path through basic yoga practices—such as simple Pranayama or focusing on the breath? I humbly request you to answer this question, Sir.
The idea of living for the Divine, becoming an instrument of the Divine, must change into a living aspiration for the Divine. It is aspiration, the intense seeking in the heart, which converts the idea and mental seeking into a real and a living force of realising it.
The simplest way to kindle the aspiration is to read the books of Sri Aurobindo and The Mother, especially Prayers and Meditations. Along with that, one should spend a few minutes in quietude every day seeking the true purpose of one’s life, praying to the Divine for help and guidance. As the fire of aspiration grows, the journey begins. Rest unfolds by the Divine Grace in the course of time.
Affectionately,
Alok Da
