Interestingly, an atmosphere that usually takes immense effort to cultivate at home established itself effortlessly within just five minutes. Sitting in the pristine, serene Ashram—untouched even by Ayodhya’s usual monkey activity—I felt a strong sense of Mother’s dynamic touch and presence. Since I don’t have anyone in my immediate circle to share such intimate spiritual accounts with, I am sharing this experience here and would welcome any thoughts or insights you might have.
The Sri Aurobindo Sadhanalaya in Ayodhya is no doubt quite a beautiful place full of deep spiritual vibrations. The vigraha of Hanuman ji is jagrat, possibly due to the bhakti of Babaji Maharaj, who lived there before coming to the Sri Aurobindo Ashram in Pondicherry. It is indeed a beautiful story. Even the other temple on the other side is quite awake, something that one wishes to see and feel in the main Ramjanmbhoomi temple. Anyways, too much crowd invariably covers and disrupts the divinity of a place. The Ayodhya centre has so far escaped that fate, thanks to the barriers and restrictions in access to the Sadhanalaya.
Each deity has different aspects and the devotees find that aspect based on their faith and inner aspiration. To me, Hanuman ji felt there as the perfect worker in the service of the Lord. In most places, one feels him as ‘atulita baladhama’, an immense power, but the real feeling should be an immense power surrendered completely to the Lord in His service.
Affectionately,
Alok Da
