Faith is the basis of hope. If you join faith to trust and confidence in the Divine Grace that it will carry you through everything then it will be best.
As to having hope about the fulfilment of desires and ambitions or else wanting the future to turn out in a particular way, then it is not hope but wish. Wishes may or may not come true but hope says that regardless of things turning out the way you want them one continues to strive and put in one’s effort in the right direction.
