AT THE FEET OF THE MOTHER
Ask Alok da

What’s the precise definition of Divine according to Sri Aurobindo? How will the human mind totally bereft of all premonitions will conceive the Idea Divine? If absolutely there are no Scriptures of any religion, no ideas of any God or anything at all, how will one start his way of understanding The Divine and experiencing his connection with The Divine? If Divine is all, then it should be possible to know The Divine without any aid.

The mind bereft of all conceptions of the Divine will yet conceive something or someone as the Highest , the Origin, the Source of all that is and yet will be, the Ultimate Reality, Truth, the Goal, the Unknowable, the Perfection we seek, the very Essence, Creator, the Ultimate of each and every quality, the Harmon of all qualities, beyond all qualities, the Unnameable, the Infinite, the Eternal, the Supreme Being, the Supreme Power, the Sole Existence and many more because the Divine is embedded in everything and everywhere and there is in man the gift of faith and intuition that seeks and knows The Divine even though He is beyond all seeking and knowing.

Scriptures is at best a help but can also be a hindrance because it may limit our avenues by tying the Supreme into each one’s experience and concepts.

Affectionately,

Alok Da

This is a resurgence of excessive rajas which will sooner or later stabilise and, given the …
