When Sri Aurobindo came back to India, the darkness left him. What does it signify🤔? India was still under British oppression that time.

It means that he overcame the first battle, the inner battle, though of course, as Sri Aurobindo would always say, it happened as a gift of Grace. Once you win something within you, the dark iron grip of kali, you are ready for the larger and much more difficult war outside in the world. That is what we see with Sri Aurobindo.
