AT THE FEET OF THE MOTHER

Why do we get dreams😴?

When we are awake then we are conscious of only the outer world, the physical world that we perceive through the senses. But the physical world is only a very small fraction of all that is going on inside us and all around. When we sleep our senses shut down and hence we begin to become aware of all that is going on inside and which we didn’t notice. We become aware, even if passingly of all our wishes, hopes, fears as well as our possibilities and limitations, the touch of the Divine and the other influences. So you see the world of dreams can be a good learning for us and sleep a good school. But we have to first grow aware of the dream world and understand the dream language.

Affectionately,

Alok Da

I remember reading a little bit of the western psychological theory about dreams activating those contents which we were avoiding and should be doing consciously in our wakeful life, for example there was this case of a woman who was continuously dreaming of a woman who was a living a wandering adventurous life but she in her actual life was living a life of infantile dependence on her parents and not having the adventurous courage of launching herself into the uncertain challenges of life. How true is this observation?
