AT THE FEET OF THE MOTHER
Ask Alok da

Why are parents like this? We are their children; does that mean they can control our lives and every decision of children’s life? Also tried to talk with them peacefully, but that also is not working. ๐Ÿ‘จ๐Ÿปโ€๐Ÿ‘ฉ๐Ÿปโ€๐Ÿ‘ง๐Ÿปโ€๐Ÿ‘ฆ๐Ÿป๐Ÿ’”๐Ÿ˜ฃ๐Ÿ‚

It is the well-known generation gap described since last 5000 years. It is because the ego, in the parent and the child, believes it is right. Though the parental love is the most special of all in terms of love and goodwill. Yet it is an ignorant goodwill. Hence the conflict. It is perhaps more so these days due to the tremendously increased evolutionary pace. Nevertheless, it is possible to build harmony and understanding if we can bring out the power of love and faith. Unfortunately, that is very deficient these days, full of stress of various kinds. The solution lies in growing wider in the mind and living deeper in the heart. Until then, at least the basis of relationship should be reason and discussion rather than blind obedience to authority.ย

Affectionately,

Alok Da

Alok da, I was going through this work by the philosopher Descartes called Rules for the Direction of the Mind. Certainly the Hindus knew the various means of purifying the mind and intelligence and, during the heydays of ancient India, the Vedic period and even much later, they did turn it both inwards and outwards. That is how they discovered such wonderful things which included plastic surgery, an elaborate pharmacopeia, warcraft and deadly weapons, principles of politics and administration, rules of mathematics and chemistry, linguistics and …

Sir, is whatever happens with us is always for our best? ๐Ÿ™๐Ÿป๐ŸŒผ

The Mother has given a very beautiful and complete answer to this.

‘Is it really the best that always happens?… It is clear that all that has happened had to happen: it could not be otherwiseโ€”by the universal determinism it had to happen. But we can say so only after it has happened, not before. For the problem of the very best that can happen is an individual problem, whether the individual be a nation or a single human being; and all depends upon the personal attitude. If, in the presence of circumstances…
