I love to write this canto several times in my diary. I have assigned a special diary to practice writing lines of Savitri (sometimes, writing these divine lines, I get goosebumps; oh, what a joy they give me)
I have two questions: one is from this Canto – sir, what is meant by ‘earth’s due to heaven’?
Second question is: what is your most favourite Canto? I like to know. Thank you, sir. Jai Maa.
And also sir I have assigned two more diaries, one is named “Talks with the mother” where as the name suggests I talk all the things to the mother and the third diary is named “Talks with the mind” in which I (?) talk with mind, suggestions, advices, confrontations, pointing out mistakes etc, Oh sir, I enjoy writing these three diaries, it is like fun adventure to me. (I got this idea from your talks. Thank you.)
Earth is a goddess, but unlike the other gods and goddesses, she has chosen to sacrifice her high status and accepted to bear the burden of Ignorance so that the Divine may manifest here in and through material nature in all His fullness. She is a special formation with a special purpose. Hence the Divine has a special place for her, a special love. Therefore He comes to earth again and again to transform her into His Image, something that is denied even to the gods. It is this profound truth that is being expressed here in this passage.
My favourite Cantos are Adoration of the Divine Mother, The Secret Knowledge, The Book of Love, The debate between Love and Death, the Twilight of the Earthly Real, the Vision and the Boon, Book 11 and 12. Of course, all the rest and all of it. 📖
Affectionately,
Alok Da
