AT THE FEET OF THE MOTHER
Ask Alok da

I recently completed this beautiful book – Champaklal Speaks. I have a few questions that came to my mind. 1- The book felt like aspiration and utmost bhakti in bold letters. How is one so consistent with an aspiration. If an aspiration is not consistent, does that mean it wasn’t an aspiration in the first place?๐Ÿง˜โ€โ™‚๏ธโž”๐Ÿชท๐Ÿ™๐Ÿผโœจโ˜€๏ธ

Disciples like Champaklal have lives behind them. Such a special Grace doesn’t come without that.

It takes time for aspiration to become steady and consistent. It is a natural process and has nothing to do with any initial deficiency. It is simply because of the different parts of our nature that are not so open and when they come to the front, the flame of aspiration gets covered like fire under a log of wood and smoke. But it springs up again melting the difficulties and burning through them.

2- There was a mention of how a disciple very close to maa and sri aurobindo lost his mind due to hostile beings. Dada, even in this is there a will of the two, how could they come so near to a disciple ?

Coming physically near is not necessarily due to some special capacity. Sometimes it is a special chance given to a fallen asura to convert himself. But it is not easy to bear the intense pressure of the physical nearness to the Divine. If there is a strong egoism, ambition or vanity, if the mind is rigid and narrow and a fundamental humility is lacking then the risk of a breakdown are very high. In any case it is a journey that goes through lives and often a breakdown under the pressure of transformation in one life may well be a leap for the next life because the price has been paid and one has crossed the inner resistance by passing through a dark tunnel.ย

3- At time just hearing Sri Aurobindo and the mothers name makes me cry, listening to your names I tear up randomly. How do I shed off this weakness?

It is not a weakness but the sign of the psychic opening that knows, loves and adores the Divine in Sri Aurobindo and the Mother. Give yourself more and more to them. That is the way forward from here.

Affectionately,

Alok Da

We have been following that ‘Honesty is the best policy’. But Honesty can be of two ways – outwardly (towards worldly people) and inwardly (to the Divine). Moreover, at times, telling the truth to men when asked at times can put us in trouble and keeping quiet is not a choice, as it’s either rude or you’re bound to respond. ๐Ÿ’ฏ๐Ÿคจ๐Ÿ‘ฅ๐ŸŒ„[…]
