AT THE FEET OF THE MOTHER
Ask Alok da

Last night I had a dream which I believe had a message. The dream went like this. I was entering my house when this cat came with its little kitten at my doorstep. The cat was looking at me with pleading eyes and indicating me to take care of the kitten. The kitten was tiny and gray in colour. It seemed to be mewing in pain. I felt pity, so I took it in. There was a party going on at my house but I didn’t pay much attention to it. I briefly greeted everyone and went in my room. Then I looked at the Mother’s photo and prayed to her. I told her that I didn’t know how to take care of the kitten but I wanted to help it…๐Ÿ’ญ๐Ÿ’ค๐ŸŒœ๐Ÿ˜ด

I prayed to her for the knowledge and power for this work. Almost immediately, I knew exactly what to do. I bathed the little kitten and he looked better. My dream broke after that bit. I didn’t understand the meaning of this dream but I feel it had a message. If there is any meaning to it, could you please explain it to me? Thank you!

The cat is the vital part in you that is sensitive to occult forces and feels them instinctively. The kitten is some new possibility that is trying to be born and take form in this part of the vital. But it needs nurturing and care, the knowledge and strength that is needed to allow this new possibility to emerge fully. This nurturing needs that you turn more and more towards the Mother and open fully to Her Grace.

Affectionately,

Alok Da

I read this little passage from The Mother. I want to know whether Sri Aurobindo is talking about Radha or the Hladini Shakti here. If not, who is the Power of the Mother mentioned here?: ๐Ÿ“–๐Ÿ˜Š๐Ÿ™๐Ÿป๐ŸŒ„๐ŸŒผ[…]

Fortunately this question was asked to Sri Aurobindo though in different words. We have a clear, concise and complete answer from him on this issue. The letter is as quoted below.

‘In the Chandi the names of the four Cosmic Powers of the Motherโ€”Maheshwari, Mahakali, Mahalakshmi, Mahasaraswatiโ€”are mentioned along with others, but the name Radha is not mentioned. This is a clear proof of the fact that when the Chandi was composed the Radha-Power was not manifested to the vision of the saints and that the Chandi mentions…

Today I had a remarkable dream. I felt that something profoundly spiritual had happened to India. It seemed that Mother India, the Divine Feminine Power, had become firmly established in the nation, and that a deep realization had awakened in the collective consciousness of the country. ๐Ÿ—บ๏ธ๐Ÿ˜Š๐Ÿ™๐Ÿป๐Ÿชท๐ŸŒ„[…]

This is not just a dream but a dream vision. It is true to the details. Yes, Mother India is rising to reclaim Her Glory and redeem the world. The other woman is clearly the anti-divine forces whose time has come. They are angry at the rise of India’s glory and know …

In her prayer of May 17, 1914, Mother writes, “One day thou wilt be my head but for the moment turn thy gaze towards the earth.” When a disciple enquired what the phrase โ€œthou wilt be my headโ€ means, She answered that “The head is the original conceiving Consciousness. “Could you simplify the meaning of all this a little further for me? ๐Ÿ“–๐Ÿ˜Š๐Ÿ™๐Ÿป๐ŸŒผ

Head is the hub that conceives whereas heart is the hub that impels towards action.ย

What the Mother seems to be experiencing here, in this prayer, is to withdraw from everything including all action. She wants to be completely one with the pure Consciousness in its origin. But the command for her is…
