AT THE FEET OF THE MOTHER
Ask Alok da

One day I felt that I do not know anything about this world, so I try to know it logically and try to experience the witness feeling, then some days I get yoga and some days I am separated from it, sometimes I get so immersed in meditation that the balance of my body is disturbed and my attention is diverted from my body and I get afraid. I am not able to keep my body and mind completely still, so what is the solution, please tell me.πŸ§˜β€β™‚οΈπŸ”οΈβœ¨βš“πŸ‘οΈ

First and foremost be clear in your thought and aspiration about what you want. You want to know about the real nature of the world or know yourself or both. Once you are clear about it then you should read all that has been written on the subject by those whom you can intuitively trust or else seek inwardly for a Guide, the Guru who can help you find. Or else turn to a Deity or form of the Divine who represents to you the Higher Power. Alternatively read books of guidance and try to understand what they say and follow the guidance. It is like entering a School of higher knowledge. One doesn’t try things randomly. One needs someone to guide.

Of course reason and analysis cannot reveal all the mysteries of life and creation because it depends upon our imperfect sensory inputs. Also it is important to keep a balance. Everything including concentration should be in moderation. An excess in any direction is not good. You must also do physical exercises and study well so that the body and brain develops to receive the higher consciousness when you are ready.

Affectionately,

Alok Da

I’m curious to know what place Sri Aurobindo would have given to Personality Classifications like Myers-Briggs, Socionics, etc. I understand that he spoke of psychoanalysis as an incomplete and partially ignorant tool of understanding the mind. πŸ“–πŸ§‘β€πŸ€“πŸ“š[…]

There was a time, long back, when I read many of these things. Found all of them not only grossly inadequate and limited but also missing the core of human nature, the person behind the personality. It is very much like the story of blind men searching for the elephant in the room and drawing their own conclusions about what the elephant likely is.

If a person is elevating their consciousness and developing themselves into a new consciousness, what about those who have already attained Liberation (Mukti) and have become one with the Supreme Being? According to Sri Aurobindo’s yoga, what is their status? Will they also take on the new consciousness?βœ¨πŸ§˜πŸ•ŠοΈπŸŒ…

Identifying with the Supreme Being is rare. What is generally called as Mukti is departing from the cycle of birth and death into a state of Silence or Nirvana and then merging or losing all one’s individual truth that the….

Sir, the main problem with depressive medicines is that they make the body and mind always sleepy, dull and lethargic. To be honest, I don’t actually know as to how and where to progress on the Spiritual path and in Studies. Even the simplest of things, I am finding it difficult to face off. Really don’t know what to do ahead.πŸŒ§οΈπŸ§‘β€βš•οΈπŸ’ŠπŸ«

This was true of earlier medicines. But now there are much safer medicines with fewer side effects if any especially of drowsiness. There is nothing wrong in taking them and bounce back on your feet in a few weeks at …
