AT THE FEET OF THE MOTHER
Ask Alok da

I’ve been alone most of my life and I feel the need of someone. But, then I remember I am with Mother and Sir Aurobindo yet still can’t fill the vacant in my mind. How can I eliminate this “need”?🗺️👣🤝❤️

Being with someone as a friend or companion does not contradict your being with Sri Aurobindo and the Mother who are everywhere, in everyone and in everything. You have to treat the persons in your life and relationships as the Mother’s children and be with them as such. To love people truly, without demands, desires and expectations, to do everything as Their service is one of the best ways even to draw closer to Sri Aurobindo and the Mother. The only thing one should be careful about is that no relationship should become so absorbing as to come in the way of your inner relation with the Mother. In fact there are several examples of relationships mutually supporting and strengthening one’s inner contact and union with the Divine Mother. So all depends upon the attitude and the approach that one takes.

Affectionately,

Alok Da

We should try to practice equanimity in the face of the touches of nature such as heat or cold, remarks of people such as praise or insult, gains and losses, success and failures, pleasure and pain. This is the foundation.
