AT THE FEET OF THE MOTHER
Ask Alok da

Two questions today, two years ago I had a back surgery, which went wrong. I remember even when they gave me anesthesia I was taking Sri Aurobindo and The Mother’s name, and had left everything to them. Now again they are talking about another surgery, saying that I have a cyst that has to come out and fuse L2 to L4. L5 S1 is already fused about 11 years ago. this will be 3 to 4 hour surgery. I think I am having some faith problem…πŸ’‰πŸ’ŠπŸ©ΊπŸ•―οΈπŸ™

I had faith in Sri Aurobindo and The Mother that they will do what is best for me, but then again a question keeps popping up, then why did the surgery two years ago went wrong? How wast that good for me? Now I keep asking them whether I should get this major surgery or not. Will that be good for mr or not? I am not finding the answer.

Second question is, I was listening to a podcast about the Pitrupaksha that is starting tomorrow. He said this one is very important one because it is starting with the Lunar Eclipse and ending with a Solar Eclipse. And he was saying that in Pitrupaksha souls of our ancestors come to meet us. In our house we used to have my grand father’s Shradh every year on his death anniversary by Tithi. So basically I know why we perform Shradh. But he was saying if we don’t do it properly – don’t give to soul what he wants, souls get angry. This is what I am taking issue with. Souls are pure, where ever they are now – if we don’t give it the water that they want, will they really get angry and bother us? Also is the Pitrupaksh this year more important for some reason? Should I be doing something for Dada?

Sri Aurobindo and the Mother were never in favour of surgery. So we can’t be doing something that they themselves have advised against and then pray that may all go well? Faith would mean leaving it entirely in their hands, to turn the mind away from the body and be focused on Their teachings. Obviously there is some fear instilled by the doctors, otherwise one would simply stop bothering much about the back discomfort and take some simple remedial measures. What is the doctor’s guarantee that this surgery will be definitely 100 percent successful. I have hardly seen any back surgery cure the problem.

As to pitrupaksh, it is obviously silly to imagine souls are stuck in some astral world forever and get angry if they don’t drink water! What then of their rebirth? Many of these things were deviced for social reasons to remember those who have gone before us, nothing else. They have no other value whatsoever.

Afffectionately,

Alok Da

Probably 4-5 years ago, I had read a book named ‘Immortal Talks’ by an author named Shunya. Last time I checked, the author hadn’t revealed their identity. So the book is about Hanuman and how He imparts the ultimate knowledge to this particular tribe of people every 40 years and the story revolves around it. You can call its genre fiction. As I read that, I felt such a deep connection with Hanuman. πŸ“–πŸΉπŸ›•πŸŒ„πŸŒ»[…]

It is not a dream but a real contact with the ever living legendary Hanuman who continues to help the simple hearted devotees upon earth to turn towards dharma.Β
