When we say that there should be no divisions, between different human beings and nations etc, we are mainly refering to the external divisions based on colour, race, money, position etc. But the roots of division are not outside but within us. As long as our heart is subject to preferences, desires, likes and dislikes it is bound to express division outwardly in some form or the other.
Therefore, if we must get rid of division we must first get rid of division within us. And if we do that we may well find that there is no need to bother about outer divisions so long as they are not reflective of some fundamental inner divide and inequality. We may then discover that outer divisions are simply a matter of external arrangement of things for creating order by the maximum utilisation of each one’s inner capacity. It is like the different colours of the rainbow that are all joined in the parent white. If therefore we wish to strive for world unity or any kind of unity we must first discover the One Origin of all things, the Divine. Merely trying to abolish external differences will not help nor will discussions to arrive a mutual understanding work out so long as we remain divided within. The remedy is to get out of the ego and live in the Divine. Otherwise man will always find reasons for fight and quarreling.
Affectionately,
Alok Da
