By listening to Savitri, it will ring in our ears; explanations will fade away, but the Savitri Song will ring in our hearts and open the door. I really feel so, at least in my case. Just do any one chapter as a sample, without any explanation in between. It will be nice if the chapter is of Divine Mother.
I fully understand what you say. They have to be two different recordings. Often half a phrase reveals its deeper sense. Sometimes a word is used in a marvelous way. All this joy one naturally shares. Most people enjoy it and have often shared that their opening and understanding of Savitri came this way; for many, it broke barriers of hesitation in reading Savitri. Actually, I don’t look at these talks as any explanation but as the sharing of my joy of Savitri. This cannot be dropped, given that it invites many, many persons to engage and connect with Savitri.
As to the joy of reading Savitri without explanation, it is very true. But many have done it; in fact, The Mother herself has read and recorded it. There are other devotees whose pronunciation and language are impeccable, including Nirod da, Udar Pinto, Shraddhavan, whose readings are truly wonderful. They are available on the net.
Well, I will also undertake this reading alone at some time, once the time comes. Let’s see when.
Actually, while giving these talks, there is none of my personality that would think, analyse and try to cater to the different needs of different persons. It is just streams and rivers flowing from above, entering into and merging with the ocean of Savitri.
Affectionately,
Alok Da
