AT THE FEET OF THE MOTHER
Ask Alok da

Iย have been reading works of Sri Aurobindo and The Mother since last 6-7 years, but i have not read any particular volume from start to the end. I find difficult to read continuously, as reading their works makes me feel like getting away from my usual readings of medical books, which I have to read as part of my medical career.๐Ÿ“šโœ๏ธ๐Ÿ“œโ™พ๏ธ

I find easy to read the small booklets compiled by A S Dalal sir, where i find it easy to navigate through topics and read about the things which seems like need for the situation i am in, and i have found it helpful for me. I am wondering if this way of reading is ok or not. Please guide me.

The Mother herself adviced that Sri Aurobindo should be read by subjects rather than by books. So in a way these compilations serve a purpose of collecting materials on the same subject from different books. As to choice of compilations one can go by the felt need or seeking and select the compilation answering the need. Of course reading the book has its own charm and advantage as it develops a specific subject in a systematic way even if one particular book does not cover all that Sri Aurobindo has to say on that subject. In any case anywhichway one reads Sri Aurobindo and The Mother it is a sheer joy and light.

Affectionately,

Alok Da
