People praise one’s work and one feels happy of one self that one is really at a great height. When I see this play of falsehood and at times when I become a part of this falsehood where… I feel very low and I feel that the people with whom I work don’t see anything that I contribute to their work. I feel the comparison, which becomes bigger than that of someone who is quiet and finds it difficult to express oneself.
How to deal with this? Because this is everywhere at home, office, with friends… now I feel no attachment to anyone and I feel low because there is less genuineness and truth in us. I remember the Mother in such times, but I am so upset that I feel she is too far from and doesn’t understand me. I truly seek guidance from you, Alok Da.
It is wonderful that you are able to see the falsehood behind this kind of vital love of praise, which is indeed a kind of falsehood. Yes, it is everywhere and it takes a great degree of sincerity to be able to detect it. But now that, by the effect of the Grace you are able to discern it, you must try to live only to please the Divine and that means doing your work well knowing that it is given by the Divine, offer it to the Divine in the beginning and after completing each work, remember the Divine inwardly during the work, practice nishkama karma or non-attachment to the results. Cultivate equanimity towards the world and people. Then slowly the greater truth will emerge from behind this play of falsehood and your heart will be in a state of inner peace and joy regardless of everything.
Affectionately,
Alok Da
