AT THE FEET OF THE MOTHER
Ask Alok da

Dada, yesterday during the study circle, we were reading about Purusha and Prakriti. In the course of the discussion, I happened to say that Sri Aurobindo is Purusha and the Mother is Prakriti (the executive power of the Purusha). Dada, please tell us your view. 😊🙏🏻🌼🪷

The truth of Sri Aurobindo and The Mother is that they are human representation of Ishwara and Shakti. Shakti is also known simetimes known as Paraprakriti or the higher Divine Supernature.

Prakriti generally refers to the lower formulation of the Higher Divine Nature. Prakriti as it operates here moves here in Ignorance. She becomes matter and living beings and thinking creatures. Similarly, the Purusha here is right now under the spell of lower nature, Prakriti. It has forgotten itself. It is anisa, not Isa or Ishwara, not the Lord.

Sri Aurobindo and The Mother have come to reset or upgrade this balance by raising the individual Purusha to become one with the Lord, Ishwara, as well as raising the individual Prakriti to become one with the Paraprakriti, a permanent part and parcel of the Divine Shakti whom we recognise as the incarnate Divine Mother.

Affectionately,

Alok Da

It means that freedom and fate walk together always. There is on the one side the determinisms or the chain of cause and effect that we have created due to the energies and action of our mind, heart, will and actions labouring in ignorance. Their effects continues to haunt us under the pressure of habit and past momentum…

Sir, the popular bhakti song ‘Shokoli tomari iccha….tomar kormo tumi koro ma, loke bole kori ami’, which you often mention, was sung by Pannalal Bhattacharya. He was a legendary Shyama Sangeet singer. Dwijendralal Roy was mainly associated with patriotic songs. One of his famous songs is ‘ Dhono dhanye puspe bhora’. 🎼😊🙏🏻🌼🎶

Yes as a child I was quite fond of Pannalal ji. Actually I was referring to the writer, not the singer. May be you could let me know the author of the song.
