In Samarpan or surrender, there is still an “I” that gives. It is a giving of all that ‘one’ thinks and feels and wills and acts and has. In self-giving, the ‘I’ itself is given along with all the rest. The I that one called oneself and which gave to the Divine is itself gone. One no longer gives each act since one belongs completely to the Divine. The instrumental personality is itself given to the Divine for whatever He wills it to be and does through it. Self-giving is the final and grand culmination of the act of surrender, the last offering of oneself into the fire of sacrifice.
Affectionately,
Alok Da
