In the short term, it may create certain difficulties, but in the long run, it will push mankind to find alternate energy, clean and healthy energy, which, if we rightly pursue, can completely alter the economic balance and shift the power equation of the world. It is just a question of time before it will be so.
What we are witnessing is the beginning of the collapse of the old world and a new life drawing energy from the sun rather than from below the ground. It is an inevitable shift and a much needed one. Short-term gains and losses apart, this shift can be an excellent opportunity for those who can see it.
