After The Mother’s physical withdrawal, Champaklal ji had practically no outer work, as his whole life was centered around Sri Aurobindo and The Mother.
After their withdrawal, Champaklal ji was outwardly free so to say. Inwardly, he was free since long. Now with no other outer work, he went around the world carrying Her Presence or rather being carried by Her all over the world, to the US, UK, Europe, Hong Kong, and several places within India including the Himalayas. Being a Jivanmukta, he was not bound by any rules. Towards the last few months of his earthly life he went to Gujarat, where he was born. Apparently, he went to take some Ayurvedic treatment. But during his stay in Jantral, he developed high fever, wherein he ultimately left his physical body on 09th May (1991?). His body was cremated and the ashes and remains were interred in a samadhi there in Jantral.
This, of course, is only the outer account. There are beautiful and inspiring stories and photographs of his travel that I wish someone had collected and compiled.
Affectionately,
Alok Da
