There are gradations of love as it evolves in creation.
The first stage when one wants someone or others to love us. Next, we love in return for love. Then, we love but expect a return. Finally, we love regardless of any return, simply for the joy of love. This is the highest form of love since that is how the Divine loves us. It is to love unconditionally, love without demands and returns, love the Divine in all rather than their physical, vital and mental personality.
