AT THE FEET OF THE MOTHER
Ask Alok da

When a young man and woman send their photos to obtain The Mother’s blessings for their married life, and The Mother signs on the back of those photos, what does it signify? What impact does this signature have on their married life and on their children? 💍🙏🏻

The Mother has herself spoken about what Her blessings mean.

‘My child,

My blessings are with you to widen and purify your consciousness so that peace may always be within you.

*

My blessings are always there to awaken you, but you must want to make use of them.

*

Blessings are a manifestation of the divine grace, in favour of an individual or a collectivity.

*

My love and blessings are with you. Understand that blessings are for the best spiritual result, not necessarily according to human wishes.

*

My blessings are very dangerous. They cannot be for this one or for that one or against this person or against that thing. It is for… or, well, I will put it in a mystic way:

It is for the Will of the Lord to be done, with full force and power. So it is not necessary that there should always be a success. There might be a failure also, if such is the Will of the Lord. And the Will is for the progress, I mean the inner progress. So whatever will happen will be for the best.’

In simple words blessings, in the instance of marriage, are meant to help us progress together towards greater and greater heights of progress. It is to activate our true destiny. They are not meant, as we often believe, to make our life ‘happy hereafter’ regardless of what we do or do not do. Blessings are never an encouragement to laziness but a spur towards truth.

Naturally, if we refuse to align with truth, then the consequences can be much harder than in a life of ignorance, where we live in the shadows of falsehood. It is an invitation to lead a life of purity and truth, of sincerity and harmony, towards which the Blessings come as a tremendous help.

Affectionately,

Alok Da

This happens because somewhere within we want to control the situations. That is not given to us. What is given to us is action and not the result.

Taking the Divine Name helps but so long as the full faith and surrender is not there, these inner reactions will be there. Ask the Mother to give true faith for if one has done what one could do and left the rest in the hands of the Divine then there is no reason for worry. After all there are so many things, so many factors we cannot control, so many unseen forces we cannot fathom. The only way is to have faith that all will be well….

For the cultivation of the physical, I can understand that it can be developed through vigorous physical exercise and being careful with diet and with the spread of gym culture, many youth today are getting into this. The Mother describes how to develop and cultivate these different elements, – physical, vital, mental, psychic and spiritual. The physical does not develop only through exercise and food but also sleep and work. So too the mind does not develop only through reading and concentration. There is also speech and mastery of thought and self observation. So too the vital which is the source of energy develops through the practice of breath mastery, ..

In the verse “Mana krama bachana chhadi chaturai, bhajata kripa karihahin Raghurai,” Goswami Tulsidas appears to set two essential prerequisites for receiving Sri Rama’s grace: completely surrendering the cleverness (chaturai) of mind, speech, and action, and actively engaging in bhajan.🙏🏻🎶 […]

Chaturai or cleverness means trying to act smart with God as if one can fool or trick Him in your favor. Bhajan literally means to take joy in God, in His Name and exploits.
