AT THE FEET OF THE MOTHER
Ask Alok da

You said order, harmony, frankness, wideness, clarity are good. Not chaos and hesitation. Also, that Silence is often a golden thing. One’s feelings and thoughts and ideas should be offered and shared with the Divine. Unless there is something of crucial importance where speaking out is needed. 💬🕊️ […]

When should we stay silent and when should we be frank? Expressing ourselves is important, right? To clear misunderstandings and miscommunication. Relationships need talking, right? Only keeping everything inside the mind and not sharing clearly leads to more confusion, right? Or not.

Speaking and sharing are surely beautiful things and important ingredients of a relationship. But this sharing should generally be of a beautiful nature, for example of beautiful common experiences and thoughts and hopes and aspirations. What is best avoided are movements of the ego, especially strong differences of opinions. Discussing this does not help. It only triggers strong reactions, fights and quarrels. One must understand that there are no two people who think alike or feel the same way. What is important, however, is to have the same core values, and at least some common meeting grounds. The rest should be accepted as part of the variation of life in every creature. So sharing means sharing the beautiful common elements, focusing and expressing whatever is beautiful in the other person. This strengthens the goodness and lays the foundations of a strong and happy bonds. The rest of it should be left to each one to deal with. Of course, I am not speaking of common outer challenges in which one has to face together but about the difficulties of human nature. If at all one wants to speak of the difficult side of others, it should be with understanding and compassion, along with constructive suggestions to deal with it. Merely pointing out fingers only worsens things.

Affectionately,

Alok Da

Tamas pulls back the Rajas when it goes overboard. It is what induces in creation the urge for rest and sleep without which there would be, for most human beings, a breakdown due to the overrunning and over excitement of the system. After all the entire animal world is maintained by the balance between the force of rajas and ..

I had a dark, unsettling dream where I was traveling through dense woods, attacked by a hostile woman, and surrounded by stampeding, giant beast-like creatures. Amid this ominous gloom—broken only by a brief glimpse of the rising morning star heralding dawn—I found myself fiercely shielding an innocent young boy from these crude, predatory giants who had shapeshifted into ordinary men. 🌙🛡️⭐[…]

The dream is once again indicative of certain inner movements. The child is your soul and the dense forest is the lower vital regions strongly under the influence of dark subconscious forces. The horse is your life energy, the vital being struggling to rescue the child. Meeting these giants in human forms is again the deceptive forces of …

In corporate, I meet some people who are Cunning and envious. They smile in front of you, but you know they are jealous of you and are internally plotting to go over you. They are so ingenuine and fake, no matter how much you are honestly have goodwill for them. 🏢🧘🪷[…]

The first thing to do is to ignore all that does not concern us and the work. One should be completely indifferent to what people are or do, let alone what they may be thinking and feeling. By letting our mind enter into thoughts about what they are or might be thinking, we get unwittingly identified with them. For there is in us …
