AT THE FEET OF THE MOTHER
Ask Alok da

Just like last time, I have been assigned seva (selfless service) in the fields again. However, the last time it was winter, so the heat of the sun wasn’t really felt; this time, it is scorching hot, and my body is unaccustomed to this kind of labor. 😣💔🌻🌄[…]

Consequently, my body and mind put up strong resistance. What should be the right attitude in such a situation, and how can I practice equanimity amidst these conditions? Regardless of the nature of the seva, how can I engage my mind in the task instead of letting it wander away?

Work is an important part of the Integral Yoga. Realising the Divine in inner meditation, inner subjective experiences, trance states does not change us except for the growth of inner peace and light of wisdom. It is work that brings our dynamic parts into contact with the Divine and has the power to transform.

Take it with the attitude of surrender to The Mother. Offer the work in the beginning and the end with a prayer to make the instrumental personality fit for Her Service, strong and supple to serve Her in different conditions. Practice equanimity as advised by the Gita and remember Her inwardly as often as you can.

Of course, if you find it very difficult to bear, you can always request for changing it.

Affectionately,

Alok Da

Dada, I am unable to fully grasp this. On one hand, you believe that and I will be together in the future; yet, based on my dream, you suggest that if I desire to be with her, it goes against God’s will and would lead me away from my true destiny. 🌄😐🙏🏻🌸[…]

All restlessness, impatience, over eagerness of desires are clearly going in one direction whereas love and service of the Divine in quite another. One doesn’t rely on dreams to decide these things. Dreams easily lie as the mind can easily create desirable images. I am surprised that still you are unable to see the consequences of this love.
