But it’s challenging; also, I feel that I am ignoring and abandoning my mother, who may be trying to say something using a memory. Could you kindly guide me on the right approach so I can use this as an opportunity to transform and evolve and completely open to The Mother. My 10 year kid also is grieving to lose his only grandparent and the fun they had together. I don’t know how to help him. I tell him that she is in a good place and she will always love him and protect him.
It is a good opportunity to explain to the child, in a very simple language, that death is simply a changeover. The gifts of the one who has departed is not just memories but various qualities that were instilled in us. It is these beautiful gifts and sweet memories that must be treasured. The child can then be explained the necessity of sending off the departed happily with prayers and love. They have done so much for us and this is the least we can do for them. By grieving, we make them suffer as they get pulled back and are unable to go further in their progress. Try to explain these few things in a simple way.
