There is no such competition going on between them. As the Avatar, it is but natural that he will see the previous Avatar first. Sri Rama also saw Parashuram first before wedding Sita ji. Once it was clear that Sri Aurobindo was to carry Sri Krishna’s work further, then he found his Shakti, The Mother. First the Work as the Avatar, then the Shakti to complete it.
