AT THE FEET OF THE MOTHER
Ask Alok da

1) Sir, please explain the importance of Temples. Daaji from the Sahaj Marg parampara says ki Vedic kaal mein ek bhi mandir nahi hota tha. Is it true?? They focus only on Raj yog meditation. 🛕🙏🏻 […]

2) Rituals do have importance. Like the Pitru Paksha and Pitru Tarpan rituals. Iske baare mein kuch batayiye: the science and importance behind it and some have pitru dosh in their astrological chart. Is it due to not performing the ancestral rites properly? Does that also affect the entire family, as the astrologers say?

Everything has its place, including rituals and everything else. Even atheism has its place in Providence. But if one wants the true spiritual life, then one has to rise beyond all this and turn to the One Divine who dwells in all. Astrology too has its place in normal life, but spiritual life is far beyond these things. They belong to the working of the cosmic forces in Ignorance.

Pitru dosh is said to be due to the karma of the ancestors. It is simply the energy formations passing down the generations or, more likely, in the atmosphere of the family. In the larger scheme of things, these things have very little value.

Affectionately,

Alok Da

After all there are so many things, so many factors we cannot control, so many unseen forces we cannot fathom. The only way is to have faith that all will be well….

The Mother describes how to develop and cultivate these different elements, – physical, vital, mental, psychic and spiritual. The physical does not develop only through exercise and food but also sleep and work. So too the mind does not develop only through reading and concentration. There is also speech and mastery of thought and self observation. So too the vital which is the source of energy develops through the practice of breath mastery, ..

In the verse “Mana krama bachana chhadi chaturai, bhajata kripa karihahin Raghurai,” Goswami Tulsidas appears to set two essential prerequisites for receiving Sri Rama’s grace: completely surrendering the cleverness (chaturai) of mind, speech, and action, and actively engaging in bhajan.🙏🏻🎶 […]

Chaturai or cleverness means trying to act smart with God as if one can fool or trick Him in your favor. Bhajan literally means to take joy in God, in His Name and exploits.
