AT THE FEET OF THE MOTHER
Ask Alok da

Alok da, recently online I’ve encountered this distinction, which is being referred to as scarcity vs abundance mindset. For example, being always anxious and fearful is supposedly a scarcity mindset, while being trusting is an abundance mindset. 🤔🌸🦋[…]

To be insecure and jealous is always a scarcity mindset, while being celebratory of everyone’s achievements is an abundance mindset and whatnot. Weirdly felt like they’re trying to indirectly approach mother’s spiritual insights on faith, gratitude, surrender.

These are nothing else but intellectual exercises indulged by people who are afraid of surrender or do not want to do it. It is the mind playing games with itself. It is the mind trying to create opposites and thereby compel one side, a better side, no doubt, to compel the other. But the human mind cannot be conquered so easily by the mind alone. And even if it does, the result will eventually be still a bondage, and not true freedom. The true method would be to be peaceful and happy in all circumstances, whether in richness or poverty, to accept it all with a complete trust and surrender to the Grace.

Besides, these mental affirmations do not touch the real roots of the problem, which is ego and desire. They are more like denting and painting rather than tackling the roots of the problem, which almost invariably returns.

Affectionately

Alok Da

I want to come to the Ashram, but the circumstances are not favorable. Should we wait, as everything has its own time? Or does it depend solely upon us? 🏦🙄🙏🏻🪷

One should not precipitate things. Faith and surrender to the Divine Grace are the best inner state. Patience and learning to wait with a quiet aspiration growing steadily within are a wonderful help in reorganizing the circumstances. Thus one should keep growing in one’s aspiration until it becomes imperative to come and one …
