She will take care, but 2. can it be the thinking that whatever we may do, Maa will take care, but the surrender process may not be that sincere or not complete; how to know, and how to improve. Can we ask Maa to do the surrender for us so that our every action and every thought is controlled by her, so that we may not make any mistakes? Also, please tell me or guide me to any of your videos so that I may know how to reach what my purpose in life is.
Surrender means doing what The Mother wants me to do. It does not mean doing whatever we like or want and simply telling her about it. That is what is the tamasic surrender which Sri Aurobindo cautions us to be careful about. Surrender to the Divine Mother means that our choices should be governed by Her. It implies that at any given moment life presents a number of options. Most people simply go with the flow, the flow of impulse or the push of desires and simply believe that whatever they are doing is all Mother doing in them or through them. That would be the most dangerous belief about surrender. It will straight away land us in the net of dark forces.
Surrender begins by first, making the choices based on one’s highest reason but offering the result completely to the Mother. One is then happy and equal-minded regardless of the result, even though the work has been done with all care and perfection, as a worship, but the result is left completely in Her hands.
Then, with the growth of equanimity, neutralisation of preferences, one begins to reach out to know the Divine Will in oneself. It is only in a state of inner equanimity and peace, when the push of impulses and the cry of desires is silenced, that one can feel quietly within the will and impulsion of the Divine Mother. That is the beginning of true surrender. One offers all one thinks, feels and does to Her. One aspires that all one’s feelings and thoughts and actions serve Her, be moved by Her.
One offers all one’s thoughts and feelings to Her so that one thinks what the Mother wants us to think and feels is moved by Her. Remembering the Mother inwardly and offering all one does to Her is the important step here.
This state takes long to develop. In the beginning one offers all one does, feels and thinks to The Mother with the true will and aspiration for the Divine. It is only as the psychic being emerges that one begins to know the Divine Will and as our nature truly attunes to it that surrender grows and develops to a state whence the Divine takes up the complete hold of the human instrument. It is then that one reaches a state wherein all one feels and thinks and does becomes a spontaneous expression of the Divine.
The key is to Remember and offer all one does to Her, leaving the result entirely in Her hands.
Affectionately,
Alok Da
