What is the spiritual view on performing rites for outer life events, and doesn’t true faith mean trusting Her will entirely rather than bartering through planetary remedies?
Absolutely true. I look upon it as trying to bribe the gods, which is so absurd. A true god is much more happy when we imbibe the qualities he represents rather than by these external worships. In fact, the very purpose of worship is to grow in the qualities and consciousness of the worshipped rather than turn it into a ritual act of seeking favours. Besides what do we know what is really good for us. If something is not given, then one should take it with faith and surrender that the Divine knows best and if we need something that is good for us, He will grant it. And if something has not been granted, He knows best. One should instead devote one’s time and energy in growing inwardly closer to God rather than asking Him for transient gifts. To those who ask things from God, He may or may not grant these things, but to those who seek Him alone, He gives Himself fully to them and takes care of all their needs without even asking.ย
